Hugo (2011)
STORY LINE
Hugo
is an orphan boy living in the walls of a train station in 1930s Paris.
He learned to fix clocks and other gadgets from his father and uncle
which he puts to use keeping the train station clocks running. The only
thing that he has left that connects him to his dead father is an
automaton (mechanical man) that doesn't work without a special key. Hugo
needs to find the key to unlock the secret he believes it contains. On
his adventures, he meets George Melies, a shopkeeper, who works in the
train station, and his adventure-seeking god-daughter. Hugo finds that
they have a surprising connection to his father and the automaton, and
he discovers it unlocks some memories the old man has buried inside
regarding his past.

القصة بشكل أساسي حول حياة هيجو الصبي اليتيم الوحيد الذي يحيا في محطة
القطار بباريس , قاضيا ً وقته خلسة في إدارة ساعات المحطة و ضبط إيقاع
الحياة فيها , و بين تصليح رجل آلي قديم تركه له والده قبل وفاته , على أمل
أن يحمل له رسالة من أبيه ترشده في أيامه القادمة و تبعد عنه شبح الوحدة
الذي يقض مضجعه , فيما يحصل على قوت يومه بسرقات خفيفة من هنا و هناك
ملاحقا ً من شرطي المحطة وكلبه الشرس على الدوام , قبل أن يكشف أمره الأب
جورج صاحب محل الدمى الميكانيكية في المحطة و يجبره على العمل لديه لتعويض
السرقات التي كان يقوم بها

الأب جورج سر كبير لا أحد يدري به حتى ابنته بالتبني ايزابيل التي تهوى
القراءة و تتمنى أن تحيا مغامرتها الخاصة يوما ً ما , و تتحقق أمانيها
بسرعة عندما تصبح صديقة هيجو الوحيدة في العالم , و تتعرف على حياته
الغريبة وسط دخان محطة القطار و دقات الساعات المنتظمة من حوله , قبل أن
ينجحا في كشف سر الأب جورج الذي كان قبل الحرب العالمية الأولى واحدا ً من
أشهر صناع السينما في فرنسا , لكن الإفلاس و الحرب الطويلة جعلاه يبيعان
كافة أفلامه الخمسمئة لأحد معامل المواد الكيميائية لاستعمالها في صناعة
كعوب الأحذية النسائية , ما دفعه لحالة كبيرة من الاكتئاب معتقدا ً أن
العالم خذله و نسي الفن الأصيل الذي ساهم في ابتكاره و تقديمه للعالم ,
لينجح الطفلان أخيرا ً في إخراجه من عزلته و إعادته لعالم الفن السابع من
جديد , حيث استطاعت أكاديمية السينما الفرنسية عبر عملية بحث شاملة إيجاد
ثمانين فيلما ً ناجيا ً للأب جورج الذي يتكفل برعاية هيجو في منزله عرفانا ً
منه بالجميل , فيما توثق ايزابيل الأحداث في روايتها الأولى
